Child Sense Occupational Therapy is based in Leichhardt in the Inner West of Sydney.
Child Sense offers occupational therapy services for children aged 0-18 years and provides services in a range of locations in order to best meet the outcomes for children, families and relevant others. Therapy may be provided from our gym/clinic space in Leichhardt, but also in homes, schools or in the community. Services are provided to children with a range of challenges including sensory processing differences, coordination challenges, emotional dysregulation, behavioural difficulties, developmental delay, specific learning difficulties, difficulties with play, complex needs, social difficulties, handwriting and fine motor concerns. Child Sense aims to create an enjoyable and safe environment for children and their families. Therapy is individualised and programmes maintain a high standard in order to facilitate improved function and maximise the potential for every child we work with.
Child Sense aims to provide a family centred, goal directed service for children which addresses all the life occupations of a child including play, sleep, work (school, preschool, day care) and daily living skills (dressing, toileting etc.). We aim to use a child’s strengths to ensure engagement and enjoyment of the therapeutic process. Whilst we firmly believe parents and primary cargivers know their child best, we aim to provide another lense through which a family can turn their extensive knowledge of their child into understanding.
Child Sense aims to provide a multi-faceted intervention service to maximise a child’s outcomes within the capacities of their current support structures.
